I wouldn't call myself a huge BBQ lover before December. In fact, after I moved to Kansas City in 2005 it took me a few years before I even tried any. It was tasty but I wasn't moved to add it into my monthly or even yearly diet.
Late last year, after taking the KC BBQ Tour with a friend, I finally fell in love with Kansas City barbecue. I'm no food writer, but LC's Bar-B-Q had the perfect blend of sauce topping amazing burnt ends. It's a tiny midtown joint with food that's been hard to forget. There's so much food on the BBQ tour that I wasn't inclined to think about barbecue until last night, when I saw a Tweet about LC's. I'm going to have to go again. I'm trying the ribs next time. The KC BBQ tour is a wonderful way to test out the city's barbecue offerings and hear some of the history of barbecue. We had a ton of fun and met some great visitor to Kansas City on the tour.
